Water on the knee

Jump to: Newest in thread

At the start of last month, I fell over outside the pub ( I was sober and going in!!) and bruised my knee.

Said knee is now all swollen and I can feel lots of fluid around my kneecap.

Will it just go down in time or should I seek medical attention?

Thanks all you knowledgeable people.

Is it blood pooling there ? Is your knee still bruised ?

Go see your gp. Why suffer , besides you could have debris in the synovial fluid which could make the condition chronic.

I had Housemaids Knee once where it all swells up and is full of fluid. I had to rest it and keep it elevated too. Eventually it settled down.

Like others said go get it checked out properly by your GP.

Get it checked out. I badly damaged my knees in a fall.

Ive had it a few times.

It can go down on its own, but medication helps, so get to your gp.

Isn't the treatment for water on the knee... a Tap on the leg .

"Is it blood pooling there ? Is your knee still bruised ?"

It was bruised at the time I did it but the swelling (water) is just coming up this weekend, started yesterday. Bruising went within a few days.

Looks like a GP visit then. Thanks guys.

My knee looked like that after i broke it. It will need an x ray, you may as Well go to casualty as your gp will be sending you for an xray anyway.
