I have heard RE7 is a return to the survival horror genre that the franchise put two fingers up at in 4, 5 (shudder) and 6.
I haven't played it yet but i still think RE2 is the GOAT, dino crisis is pretty bo too. |

Resident evil 2 was always my fave. Closely followed by the resident evil remake on the GameCube
I'm holding out on resi 7 until I have the VR setup. Apparently its mind blowing and beyond scary playing it with full VR support |

Yeah i saw some clips on the tube that looked freaky as friday. Agree about the remake, an excellent piece of work. Dino crisis deserves the treatment. |

"I loved the cut sequences, seeing the RPD get overrun in resi 2, but they expanded on it in nemesis and then had the UBC abseil in only to get chewed up as well.....fricken ace!"
Silent hill is pretty scary at the start when you get attacked by those little satanist badger-gnomes |

I couldn't play that game. I was strictly a watcher, and any time the radio static started i'd be watching between my fingers. |

Lol, yes the sirens going off. The crying babies crawling up the walls in the school and the crackling radio....good game! |

Nooo! It's got to be four! My most favorite game of all time. I've done most of them: 4, 5, (in what universe does a herb take up the same amount of room as a shotgun? Re5...) 6 and then nemesis, was that Jill on a boat? ... then for ps4 I've got the original one which I found a bit tedious, the angles stressed me out, and leaving stuff in boxes my oh my... so 4 is my fave. Linear story with areas to explore and also collect treasure to sell and upgrade your weapons. Running through it on pro atm, easily my most favourite game. I never get tired of playing it!

4 is not survival horror. It's fine for what it is but i wish they'd branded it as the spin off it really is. |

I used to collect the games. Still got every game that was released on the GameCube from zero up to 4. I even had the resident evil 4 special edition GameCube console
Zero is another underrated resi game. Anyone remember the outbreak file 1 & 2 games as well? The zombie elephant was a highlight |

"And for all the fans they have a resi evil 2 remake in development for current gen consoles "
Ahh, fuck yeah! Whenever I play Resi Evil 2 I always think of Tim Bisley. I've watched a let's play of 7 and it is a really good game |

It's good and it has returned to the survival, but I'm not so keen on the FP.
Resident evil two was the first one I ever played, so I'm hoping g they don't mess up the remake. |

I like 2 the best, but one is still a classic. The remake was ok I suppose. I do not like the las plagus or whatever victim ones though. I hope the 2 remake is good patiently waiting.
I was looking forward to the new silent collaboration with Norman reedus and Benicio del toro but it's not going to happen now |

"The first 3 were the nuts, as was dino crisis 1 and 2. The best, for me, was nemesis though.
STARS"
Haha. Was about to quote that.
I only played the first three.
1st one was the classic and still stands out. I remember jumping out of my sling a few times playing it. |

Resident Evil 4 is not only the best in the series, but also a strong contender for best of the generation it appeared on. That's it's been re-released on so many formats, so many times, is testament to its place.
I say this as someone who liked the idea, but never really got on with the fixed-camera originals, so take with a pinch of salt |

That scorpion boss. There I am, nice and happy in the dark. Comes to my last shotgun shell, two grenades and two rounds in my pistol.
Fire the rounds in my pistol, lob the two grenades and he launches himself into the rafters.
There I am, last shotgun shell. Almost dead listening to him jumping about the rafters near shitting myself
BOOM "PETER LETS FUCK" the ex comes smashing in absolutely hammered. I shit myself and fire by accident, and the boss comes down just right then. Killed him.
Most horrific clutch moment I've ever had in any video game ever. |

I'm hoping resi 4 gets a Switch version! Just to play it with Wii like controls on hd |

I recently replayed through the classic three
My personal favourite is nemesis first one of the series I played when I was younger but I believe by polls and things I've read that 2 is the best because of how ground breaking it was at the time but everything I've heard about 7 is how good it is and how it's returned to the survival horror rather than action/shooter laced with zombies that it turned into after 3/4 |
