Why forumites join a thread were you have to send and receive messages or even pictures and then ignore those messages or even better reply and block in one go so when you reply to say thank you you are blocked.

Occasionally, we've done that, as some see it as an open opportunity to try and get a meet out of it.

I'm guessing the same reasons people normally block.

Send a message and then block or just block them?

Yeah this.

Sometimes I'm just there to swap pictures but guys have taken it as an indication of interest. The only way has been to block.

I might date say it's because you're not part of the forum clique, but as we know there is no clique

What I didn't like about FPF was being asked for a pic by people who don't use the forums or have never joined in on any threads I had previously. Or, people assuming I want to meet them because of it.

Because you have no control over who *else* joins those sorts of threads and sometimes, a very small minority don't participate in the original spirit intended. I've very occasionally had a FPF message (usually from someone never seen before on the forums) which is unpleasant - or their profile is - so I don't want to interact. Or, I'll note they live very close to me and I don't really want to be showing my face to someone I might see in Tesco

I like to join those 'send a picture' threads sometimes to send pics to all the guys who say they were skipped or who didn't get a pic.

I've stopped doing them. I like to keep a clean inbox and participating in those threads stresses me out. I may return when I'm feeling in a sharing and caring mood.

I get where you're coming from OP. If you're going to publically declare 'I'm in!' in a fun thread, whilst of course it's everyone's right not to send to anyone they don't want to, you've kind of signalled that you're game to join in so it's a little against the *spirit* of the thread to then not participate!

The simple rule I apply now (particularly when sending face pics - or half a face in my case as that's all I have at the moment in my Friends only gallery! ) is that I only send if I'm happy that they might not send one back!

Then if people don't want furumites sending them a message, why they opt in with the send a message thread in the first place?
