so it seems that poor little badgers are going to be culled to stop the spread of bovine TB - why cant they just vaccinate the cows??
would be easier as we know where the cows are rather than trapping and innoculating the badgers surely |

Because it was an election promise to the Farming community, who are historically almost all Conservative voters.
All political parties make election promises to their party faithful....

They promised to tackle Bovine TB in cattle without a cull of cattle, which was happening regularly in many farming communities.
The innoculation option was quickly dismissed as being inadequate by the farming sector....they wanted a badger cull. |

They have.....but the NFU and their members don't want this option.
At the end of the day the farmers know their cattle far better than any politician. |
