I'm proud to be a Manc!
My friend Martyn was confirmed dead today after being missing since the blast, they took me to one side at work to tell me then dropped me off at home.
Work have started a collection to add to the fundraising efforts
I went on facebook and saw a local lady on a crochet group had an idea to cover the City in hearts so that's what we're working on, it's a welcome distraction.
A guy at work is Sikh and this morning he was telling me how he's going to temple tonight to cook food to hand out hot meals in the hospitals
Tattoo artists across Manchester are offering the Manchester bee tattooed to raise money
The homeless men who helped are being housed
Definitely proud to be mancunian today more than ever |

Not sure I heard it on the radio. Think it's a faceshite thing I'm not on it so can't check but apparently they was hoping to raise 3 quarters of a million but did it on the 1st day so raised it to a million.... |

Must be awful for friends, families and colleagues. I can't imagine what the families of the deceased are going through, or those with life changing injuries in hospital. Horrific  |

I've loved reading the stories about how people have helped out there, food and drink given to parents and the emergency services, the taxi drivers offering anyone who wanted a lift for free, hotels letting people stay, again, without charge, in the face of evil, Manchester has shown its true spirit, proud to call you our neighbours |

I had this discussion with a forumite last night as I watched the news. I've always been immensely proud of being a Mancunian. Despite leaving 15 years ago I always consider it to be my home. The past few days have made me even more proud. Just watching the spirit of humanity bring the community together and seeing them rise up like a Phoenix from the flames, how could I be anything but proud? |

I'm so proud of my daughter. She's a Junior doctor and was on her last night shift when the bombing happened. Stayed on and did back to back shift to pitch in on A n E.
Other medics and support staff turning up on days off to pull together.
Terrorists will never break spirit like that......you go Judith. xx |

Sorry to hear that he was one of your friends Chloe, my mates daughters half sister was one and another friends cousin was one of the girls as well.
The atmosphere around the city centre is very weird and very difficult to understand, but we are Manchester we will come back bigger and better like before. |
