Is it small enough to ignore if you lapse at all?

I have a Charge HR, and am happy to report my resting heart rate has _educed to 53 bpm, which would be driven by the motivation to do at least 10,000 steps per day

Is there any unofficial apps for it? Or can you link to any app? Been thinking of getting one... Is it accurate?

certainly get one with a Heart Rare monitor inbuilt..

with the Fitbits it works out how many calories you burn through exercise based on your height and weight..

clever bit of kit

Seems accurate. She has paid £2.40 for unofficial app which works fine. Had pairing problem with the official app

Does it help bulk up? I need to eat a lot to hold onto weight.

It doesnt give you a fitness program or dietry advice.. it really is just a fitness tracker..

counts steps, measures sleep, does your heart rate, works out calorie burn and for how long youve been in each exercise zone...

gives you a little buzz on the wrist when you reach your own step targets..

I have a FitBit Flex. It syncs brilliantly with MyFitnessPal so one keeps an eye on exercise and the other keeps an eye on what I eat. The combination works.

Depends on what you want on your wrist, as there are a lot of variants.

Is it a simple fitness tracker, a heart rate monitoring device, a smart watch ?

Your budget will vary from £40 to £150

I have a HRM somewhere, used in those days when the gym seemed like fun!

Has a sensor strapped around the chest. A modern fitbit type device still needs one I guess??

My fitbit doesn't need a chest strap, it uses a light behind the wrist to 'see' the pulse in the veins

The most accurate devices do use a chest strap e.g. Polar

But most wrist based devices use an optical sensor

Depend on the type of sports.. I've got the Tomtom sports watch. It's got heart rate & GPS built in and is water proof so suitable for swimming too. Seem robust as well as it survived Tough Mudder fine at the weekend.

What it's not as good for is sleep tracking and needs charging regularly if you're using the GPS features.

Also forgot to add... the TomTom can work with some external sensors (bike & Chest strap) and has an mp3 player built in that works with bluetooth headphones.

Depends on what you want it to do, which I know sounds daft. If you want it to get you moving, motivated & generally have fun with then I have the Fitbit Charge HR2.

It syncs with MyFitnessPal & if you add friends you can set mini challenges for motivation, which is great if you're competitive like me.

If you want 100% accurate heart readings, steps that kind of thing it might not be for you.

Blaze all the way. You can get loads of different straps on amazon so you can have a metal/rose gold etc strap for smart and then use the rubber strap that comes with it for exercise. I love it.... very useful.. ive masturbated 4 miles today
