why are women more understanding than men I have found a great woman on here but this past week I've been a total pain in the ass yet she is still with me she is a rock to me i can talk about anything and everything with her no boundaries |

It's in their genes to be that way, maternal instinct to mother and look after people. Some have a stronger instinct than others, mother Teresa and Myra hindley are probably good examples of either end of the scale.  |

It depends how much of a pain you've been and how long you're like it!
It's good that you recognise it but she'll only tolerate it for so long! Good behaviour now! 
I would think men and women can do the whole 'give and take' thing to a degree. Solid friendships / relationships are built on the realisation that we all have our flaws and to tolerate them - to a point! |

I hope you've told her this.
People, not just women, will tolerate bad times as long as the good times are worth it (I'm not including abusive relationships in this).
You seem a little surprised she's hung around, don't push your luck  |

"She won't put up with it for long though. I went 6 months putting up with an arse then one day I realised I was worth more then that. X"
That is so true. I spent 10 years being understanding. These days i'm far less tolerant of guys being an asshole and would walk after a couple of months. |

It's such a breath of fresh air when out of a relationship like that. Why is it though that the guy is always so surprised when we finally find our voice to end it. I heard all the bullshit telling me he would change but at that point I was over it. |
