By catfish I assume you mean time wasting fake . Unfortunately many of them lurk on sites like these. They're a playground of sorts for them.
Learn from it, set yourself some rules to prevent it in future (although some will inevitably slip through).

Just don't let what he says get to you. He has to pretend to be someone else just to talk to you, don't let him insult you, him being a catfish gives you enough content to insult him and rip him apart. Anything bad he says just say something 10 times worse back. That's the rule of the Internet  |

If someone is revealed as fake by fraudulent images best just to block and report them.

Ok guys yes there are people like this but let's play devils advcat here. We don't know why these people hid behind false profiles. I'm not in anyway condoning it. Im just sayin that we don't know what's going on in their lives or why they choose use someone else's pics/details. Maybe they have little confidence and pretending to be someone else gives them confidence. Maybe they have a different life that they are not happy in so choose to be someone else on here. Maybe they are just pic collectors n wanting wank material because they are not getting any positive attention at home. Yes it sucks and it's unfair. But don't jump to conclusions that they are "arseholes".

I met two women on a well known dating site who turned out to be very disturbed sociopaths. As I educated myself on these people I found that narcs/sociopaths are quite common and tend to use these types of sites regularly for varied reasons including catfishing, so the chances of being contacted by one, or you sending a message to one is around 40%. |
