I wasn't looking forward to it at all and my ex and I ended up breaking up just a few weeks before, so I went to work and wept in the toilet most the day, bought a few beers for my train commute home and then sat weeping on my own that evening.
It was great. 
I might actually redo my 30th for my 35th for something as I completely missed out. |

My husband (we're now separated) booked a weekend away for me at a castle in Bath. When we'd driven past we'd always joked it was "our house"
On arrival the owners told us they were new and none of the previous bookings had been handed over to them and they had the who castle booked out for the weekend.
They put us up in a farm a few miles away. Not the experience we had planned but so much fun and memories made |

Pink cupcakes

Age is purely what you make of it. Im 33 and sometimes feel 50. My name was 82 and still in Ibiza clubbing with my sister. Age is nothing but a number.

When I turned 30 I was going out with a hot 40 yo, which probably helped a little toward it seeming like not such a big deal. I'd hated my 20's too so was glad to see the back of them.
My 30's have been amazing and I've turned 40 today, again it's no big deal. I'm excited about my 40's. The wife's been edging me all morning and we've got a meet later, I couldn't be happier and life just keeps getting better! |

My bro took me to the grovesner in Chester for lunch. I ordered the steak sandwich n I came with only a bottom no top and NO CHIPS! I love my bro but sometimes he's too posh for me.

Well thats certainly the plan.. the rest of 2017 im focusing on shifting weight.. so will be considerably smaller in size than i am now.
Id like to be more confident sexually and possibly start dating again. Ive a 7 year old (she'll be 8 when im 30) and selfishly id like to get my life back into check.. |

I was released from hospital after suffering a near fatal pulmonary embolism. We had booked out a number of log cabins in the lake district for family and friends. I made it but couldn't drink, barely walk and just about talk. 40 better be better. |

Looking ahead even further, your daughter will be 18 when your 40 (same as my situation) and life does begin at 40.

I can't wait until my 30th birthday. I've always had this idea of the sophisticated 30-something year old woman.
I have no idea what I'm going to do, but it will be awesome. I'm thinking either a party with my friends in NYC or heading to Las Vegas with Marc and going all out. |

I was in Australia for my 30th visiting my best friend
She declared we should have a birthday week
We went camping in the bush, swam surrounded by manta rays, had a barbecue on the beach, my birthday cake was Lamingtons and we had dinner at a local Thai place

I was heavily pregnant and it was a hot summer. I really had a fantastic 30th...so much so that I can't actually remember what I did. And the sad thing is I was stone cold sober. That much I know! |
