A and E departments saying only go if it's an emergency.
Surely the clue is in the name....the biggest problem in NHS is the dozy feckers who go there for minor shit anyway. Shouldn't need saying.
Still no news on who it is....could be a ransom demand thing...a foreign power...or a teenage geek. Nobody knows yet. |

It seems like it actually is. I've had to come home early from a Birmingham trust because the computers have all been down for half the day, and if people working in other trusts have been talking about it too, then there's your proof! |

From what ive read the NSA knew about the potential flaw in the software but said nothing because they used it to hack computers themselves. |

All the money put into staff annual mandatory information governance training and the NHS uses vulnerable systems? Outbloodyrageous. |

This happened in an episode of Chicago Hope a couple of weeks ago. Watch that and see the impact it has on a hospital.
This recent attack was global. Not just our NHS. It does shine a light on how easy it can be done. No need for weapons. One computer hacker and a laptop can have the world on its knees!
People may still die as a result unfortunately so it's far from harmless and needs to be taken seriously. |

" NHS in Wales hasn't been hacked. "
I should have put parts of the NHS.
Oh and NHS Wales isn't removing the bursary in Sept 2018 for new student nurses. Let's move to Wales |

"This isn't a political thing. Not under attack by Torres or labour.
Big, national cyber attack on the whole of the NHS,!
Breaking news...."
Except it is a political thing.
When a government deliberately underfunds the NHS, cost-saving shortcuts will be made. Such as not upgrading outdated and insecure operating systems, training staff correctly in IT security, etc.
As a result, the NHS is far more vulnerable to this type of incident than it should be.
I wonder if anyone has seen the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt speaking about this security crisis yet? He seems to be missing in action at the moment... |
