I drove a manual for 25 years but was persuaded to buy an Easytronic (can be driven auto or manual).

Had it over 4 years, never driven it manually

Well done! I tell you what, when you come to take the practical test, take some rescue remedy about 15 minutes before. It really helped to calm my nerves and after recomending it to friends they also said it helped. Just remember to keep checking those mirrors!

funny you mentioned mirrors... that what mt instructor says... i have to remind myself to check the mirror before indicating and not the other way round... lol

other then that.. just been on another lesson and did some general driving for the 1st time... i really enjoyed it...

if i had known this automatic driving lark was so enjoyable i would have done it years ago!!!!

fingers crossed for your practical

i drove my dads automatic car for the firsttime the other day and nearly had a breakdown!! i hated it!! it was probably more to do with the fer of scratching or crashing it though than the actual act of driving it haha

Ive had a couple of automatics and they're like driving bumper cars

Nothing beats when you're really acclerating and whizzing through the gears though

Fabio when I passed my test many moons ago, my driving instructor gave me a piece of advice. on the test you have to exaggerate the way you check your mirrors so they can tell your doing it. in other words be like a nodding dog so they can see your head movements rather than your eye movements xxx good luck

My instructor gave me the same advice about making sure the examiner could see my head move and me looking in the mirrors, most instructors know parts of the test routes because they ask their pupils where they went during the test and you will know doubt have been on some of the routes whilst you you out learning to drive.

i was advised to book my practical exam during rush hour, because the test is 45mins long and if your in traffic for most of it then there is less time to make mistakes

my instructor clearly had high hopes in my ability to drive

passed first time though
