'I may not be Brad Pitt'
'You don't need to be a Brad Pitt lookalike'
... and loads of similar statements abound on sites where people look to describe themselves
It has almost become a catchphrase or an integral part of our wider terminology.
But why Brad Pitt ?
Is he perceived as being the ideal male ?
or is it that he is one good looking man who because of his fame is embedded in our (sub)conscious mind ?
or both ?
I am obviously talking in terms of looks and build ? (as what we see on the silver screen are characters, rather than the real him)

Brad Pit does nothing for me but i recognize he is stereo typed as being the ideal looks. I have been known to say im not looking for brad pit only because it seems acceptable that he is classed as very good looking |

well we are all pushed to see celebs being the gorgeous and elite arent we...but ppl have to remember, how much goes into making ppl look "that" good lol...I'd safely say I've met some stunning(in my eyes) women on fab, or checked some stunning women lol- give them hollywood treatment and hey presto...someone who equals or excels the stars.And lastly...I know photoshop, amazing what u can take out or enhance! |

I can appreciate why some ladies like Brad Pitt, afterall he is a good looking guy, but he's always looked a bit gangly or skinny to me, even though he has good muscular definition when he's pumped up, lol.
George Clooney though is what I would call a heart throb.

He is the Rock Hudson of our generation  
Seriously good looking and charismatic man though.
He is (or used to be) a regular at Harry's Bar in Cernobbio (Lake Como, Italy) and put in an appearance one of the nights we were there in 2006.

Years ago there was an actor call Clint Walker.
He was the big guy in The Dirty Dozen, he's in his eighties now but still a fine looking guy.
He was what they used to call "a mans man" (no View, not in that way).
He was lots of guys ideal, and many women's too.
For those ladies who've never heard of him, give his name a google, he was the epitome of tall, dark and handsome.
