I don't have a problem with restaurants and hotels launching ad campaigns early as they need to maximise their potential profits at that time of the year. They know how busy they will be and anyone who wants to go away for the festive period or book a family meal knows they need to do it very early or it'll be fully booked.

For me, I always knew Christmas was upon us the first time the Coca-cola ads with the long lit up lorry came on the tv any given year. Or the old Woolworths ads.

There's a shop in London Bridge called the Christmas Shop - opened all year round. My daughter came home with cinnamon scented candles earlier in the week from there.

When I asked her why, for crying out loud, she simply stated she loves Christmas!

It's soooooo wrong mentioning Christmas in July!
