I told this person I was having physio, unfortunately had a bad reaction and it meant I couldn't drive; let them know asap (I was really looking forward to meeting her btw), then promptly got blocked.

Perhaps, but also her choice. Perhaps she's been messed about in the past? I've certainly reviewed how understanding I will be based on past experience, but would also judge each case on its own merits.
