Eat well, diet. Buy some kettlebells and train at home. There's plenty of videos showing all the different exercises. Buy some resistant bands as well. You dont need sophisticated equipment to shape up we've done it in 3 months. |

Down load a fitness app. You can get some good free ones such as Nike+ Training Club. Where you won't get in top physical form they go along way to starting on the right track. 15/20 workouts so hopefully can be squeezed in somewhere and are equipment free |

Food will be the biggest thing for you if you don't have the time to train in a gym as well.
There's plenty of calculators online that will work out your daily calorie intake, try and tailor your meals around that figure. Try to avoid foods with high fat and salt content as well as cutting down on the sugar you take on.
As for exercise, if you're really this busy, I'd say try walking more instead of taking the car. Take the kids out for a walk with you, or maybe a bike ride.
Basically just be fairly active and more importantly watch what you eat |

I'm also struggling time to fit in exercise. By the time I've finished work fed the family and done the evening chores the last thing I feel like doing is exercising! |

Buy yourself a few dumbbells, kettle bells, a medicine ball and a gym ball. Get a 30 day shred video. Start gently with some easy exercises and cardio workout. Be careful trying to do the 30 day shred straight off get ideas from the video and work towards it. Walk as much as possible at a brisk pace. Once you get fitter build up to running a bit.
If you'd like some exercises I found useful feel free to PM... |

Eat less, move more, seems to work for me. Just discovered on YouTube a guy called Adrian Bryant, doing is fuck being fat workout. You don't need any special equipment. It looks simple but you feel it after the workout.
Drink plenty of water.

Bit by bit just increase the amount of walking and other activity that you do. Park further and further from shops and places you're going to. Turn some of the walking in to runs etc.
The dietary advice is good - frequent balanced small meals, more natural food - vegetables and fruit. Take a look at your diet and replace the worst couple of things at a time for higher fibre, slow digestion foods.
See if there's a free trial for gyms that won't expect to sign you up for 12 months plus etc. |

There a new gym opened up down the road from me and my plan was to start going there. A few evenings a week. But then my kids mum got a new job so my plans of having a few evenings free a week went up in smoke as all her shifts are from 5pm. So I end up having my kids. Don't get me wrong my kids are my world. And I love having them. Even her bf who she left me for and lives there most of the time won't look after our kids. |

You don't need the gym, for a treadmill use the streets, you can get a set of weights. I have been paying for the gym for years, haven't been in a year. The weight I've lost and the muscle mass I've gained has all been done at home/on the streets. |

I use my 2 year old son for exercise sometimes.
I'll lay on my back and pick him and lift him up and down.
Put him on my back and run up and downstairs.
Things like that. He loves it because to him were playing
I also have a bar that hooks on to the door frame from Amazon it was only £20 and you can put it on and off with no effort what so ever.
Give me a message and I'll send you the link |

This. But learn how to row properly. Sit up straight. Pivot from the waist at the back. Hands away over the knees before you glide forward. Push with the legs and accelerate the hands at the finish of the stroke with the handles just under your nipples (ooerr missus!). You don't need to be rating high. 18, 20, 22, 24 and back in 2 minute pyramids. |

Start with 20 press ups, 20 sit ups, 20 squats, 30-60 second water break then repeat twice more. Increase to 30 after a few weeks, then to 40 then to 50.
Do that 3-4 times a week and after no time you will be in good shape.
I have to confess I haven't done that in about 6 months before tonight, but did a quick set before posting as you inspired me. |

Google the 5BX fitness plan guys
Ladies google the XBX fitness plan it's an excellent graduated program that's been around since the 60's and is short, easy to fit in and originally developed by the Canadian airforce.
Then before the protein possy and the meat muppets start it's an amazing starting step if you then want to move on or maintain. |

Since I started running my knee has become much stronger. I tore my acl playing 5-a-side football at uni and for years it would 'go' every month or so.
Since running, mainly on the road, I haven't had one single episode. |

I cut out sugary fizzy drinks ( switched to diet etc) stopped buying bags of wine gums and snacking, lost over a stone and a half without really trying. Now that initial start has been made, I can make more little tweaks and drop more weight.
One word, willpower, if you can't stick to it, you won't succeed. Good luck. |

"Run, it's relatively cheap and you can do as little or much in the time permitting. Burns lots of calories."
Buy a pair of properly fitting running shoes, from an independent sports shop rather than a mainstream sports retailer, and away you go. I didn't and suffered with achilles tendon issues initially, but with shoes to suit my feet, no problems since. Start off slow, and gradually go further and further. Your lungs will cry out at first, but your capacity for air will increase as you go |

What do you want to achieve? That's the first question.. 'shape' can mean all sorts.
You can drop weight with just diet, beyond that it fits if you want it to. I work, study, have my son and something resembling a social life and manage to train 4 times a week. Sometimes it's 6am, sometimes it's 9pm - it's whatevers needed to get it done.
I'm sure plenty will disagree but you can fit in 4 hours a week if you want to.. that was/is sufficient for me to have dropped 5st and pretty much completely changed |

You can drop weight with just diet, beyond that it fits if you want it to. I work, study, have my son and something resembling a social life and manage to train 4 times a week. Sometimes it's 6am, sometimes it's 9pm - it's whatevers needed to get it done.
I'm sure plenty will disagree but you can fit in 4 hours a week if you want to.. that was/is sufficient for me to have dropped 5st and pretty much completely changed"
I hope to get where you're at, I'm managing on average 6 hours of solid cardio and about 12 hours of walking a week with weights on top. |

"What do you want to achieve? That's the first question.. 'shape' can mean all sorts.

I started, I recon, fatter than you are.
Personally, I prefer controlling food intake over smashing cardio.. it's easier to make a decent deficit in the kitchen then add cardio in when weigh loss slows. I feel that sets you up better for the future too because anything that you do now must be sustainable forever if you don't want to go back over.
I used myfitnesspal a lot to keep a track of food and just adjusted macros to something more gym-specific. |

John uses kettle bells 8kgs & 16kgs as you can use them at home & use different exercises to tone parts you want to develop.
We bought ours in Aldi's ranging from 2kgs upwards & downloaded the exercises from Google. |

Yeah, I used to be in good shape. It's not a problem for me. I went to shit after an awful split from my kids mother. I used to run 7/8 miles every 2 nights and be up snowdon regularly. Just trying to get back to that. |

Fair play, I separated myself a year ago and I know it's hard to keep going... Stupidly, it's the best thing to do, but it's hard to see that.

"Listen to Moby Flower
135 squats
135 crunches
135 sit ups
That will get you fit with no gym
Could be worth a try. "
If you have belly fat the crunches and situps will build abdominal muscles making the belly more prominent until you lose that fat.
Just a heads up |
