"I'm taking a break but the weather is beautiful and I'm tackling the blackberry bush! And hoping I get a tan as well so probably not best dressed for it. "
As long as you tackling the blackberry bush wasn't some kind of euphemism lol can I ask your advice?
We have one in our garden and I cut it right back a few weeks ago to virtually nothing
It has started to sprout but I wondered if we would get any fruit this summer
Completely off on a tangent I know

Oh, it's not that off tangent at all!
They are quite fast growers so you do need to prune them a lot.
If you've cut it right back to nothing you might still be in luck but later in the season for fruit; just make sure you water it frequently and it has some shade - they do grow quite quickly! If it's only a few inches of cane visible you might have to wait a year. That's my poor knowledge showing, hopefully someone will know more! |

Thanks so much for the advice I think you've saved me from a divorce, Andy wasn't happy I'd attacked his blackberry bush
