I'm off to a ball later in the summer and as such I'm scouring e-bay for a bargain, but, I've yet to hit the charity shops.
Many of my posh frocks for socials come from there.
Which got me to thinking, how many among us are happy to hunt for a bargain or wouldn't be seen dead with an item from a charity shop? |

I love charity shops, it means I can buy things from shops I love but at a price I can afford
I also prefer to buy things I need when the sales are on as I resent paying full price, if the item I have my eye on has gone by the time I get paid, so be it |

I used to run a ladies wear shop and the owner had me add vat then double, then round up to whichever number suited her on that day! So I really begrudge full prices on clothing. |

There was one shop I got a load of nylon sheer nighties from, you know the ones..... move about in bed too much and you cause sparks! ... but they were great for when you have that, 'lets rip the clothes off each other moment' |

Local Asian shop near us, has beaded fabric for top, fabric and lining for slirt and wraps to match paid £12.00. The will make them up for £10.00-12.00.

"The black dress in one of my pics (under a hunk doing press-ups) cost me a fiver from a charity shop.
did he get his outfit from ebay ???"
Anne Summers lol lol
His wife bought it.
Must explain, it was a charity 'do' and everyone had to wear a little pink.
I won the auction to be beneath this lovely soldier when he did his press ups...... I was set up by his wife though, as he stripped down to that fetching little outfit just before doing them! |

I love browsing in charity shops and have bought a lot of clothes there.
I think the best ones are the british heart foundation shops. lots of labels for little money )
and if you go to some in posh little towns you might end up with a bigger bargain. A friend of mine got proper designer handbags from these shops |

Last year was the first time I`ve bought a brand new shirt for several years! I needed a black shirt and tie to go with a cape and black trousers for a Halloween outfit, even then it was from T J Hughes! Otherwise, all of my shirts come from charity shops, work or best! |

Loooooove the charity shops, save loads o money but then have to spend it on a bigger wardrobe.
Started when I was young (one of many kids) buying up the old war-time maxis, what fab quality they were and flouncy dresses to undo wash iron and remake.
And when you get fed up with something you can always take it back and they can sell it again. |

I got a pair of Henry Lloyd jeans for a fiver last week. I paid £95 for an identical pair a few years back. My favourite ever pair of trousers were a pair of all purpose combat trousers by Levi's bought from Oxfam. Still had the tags on and I paid a quid. How's that for value? |
