As song writers I thing U2 have produced some pretty decent work , but other than for his charitable work I struggle to find anything redeeming about Bono... |

Bloody loads.
I couldn't really comment on the persona of rockstars but if only half of what is said about Iggy Pop is true then he is/was a fairly reprehensible person. Still the greatest rock n roller of all time for me though.
I love, and still listen to certain tunes by Gary Glitter. Obviously his actions are unforgivable.
Lou Reed. Incredible songwriter who displayed a sensitivity in his work totally at odds with his reputation as a complete bastard.
There's too many to list really. I'm guessing a lot of mega stars from over the years behaved fairly appallingly at the height of their fame/success. I don't really care though, it won't stop me listening to any of them. |

I don't know if its true, but I once heard an anecdote claiming Bono was attending a convention aimed at tackling environmental issues and world poverty where having suddenly realised he'd forgotten to pack his favourite pork pie hat he had the hat flown halfway around the globe occupying its own first class seat on an luxury commercial aircraft...
Sound too far fetched to be true but we are talking about Bono |

No, take a band like oasis, the dullard moron brothers are as much a reason I hate them as theit utterly uninspired music. Like Chris Martin is enough of a twat to point me off Coldplay even if they weren't shit. Conversely people like Jarvis Cocker and Morrissey are as much a reason I love Pulp and The Smiths as their musical genius.
I suspect he low tolerance comes from being a music obsessed teenager in the 80s relying on magazines like Sounds to introduce me to new music. In those pre-intenet days interviews and even reviews were as much about the band as the actual music |

"On the flip side......
James Blunt, at times slightly iffy on the music but by all accounts an utterly tremendous bloke..... "
he comes across as a smashing fella in interviews, takes the piss out of himself and quite a wit |

Chuck berry who bob dillon said was the grand father of rock and roll so many great hits.. nadine, no particular place to be, just two of them and sadly passed away in march this year at the age of 90, Apparently had a bit of a dark side to him off stage but his music will be around long after many artists/groups playing today. |

Apparently Madonna's tour rider includes standard stuff such as .....
All furniture be removed from the dressing rooms and replaced with her own pieces that she has shipped in."
"20 international phone lines in the room as well as special white and pink roses that must have the stems cut to six inches."
"a personal chef, acupuncturist and an on-site dry-cleaner."
