Anyone know about cats

My 3 year old daughter and 12 year old grumpy old lady cat have formed a close friendship. But the old cat scratches her and my daughter gets gifts of dying baby bunnies and a dead bloody duck.

Do I leave be or try separate them more?

I have 2 cats, cat and kitten. kitten is newer and brings us lizards, frogs, mice and voles.

She's the alpha of the two. She leaves us food to show she's the provider, that she's in charge. She puts the other cat in her place by fighting. She doesn't cover her poop with the litter because ... she's saying she doesn't need to hide.

Perhaps your cat is scratching your daughter to show her who is in charge.

They are gifts of love.

Maybe the cat is scratching because the claws need cutting.
