Have you got bluebells - possibly in flower now - if so, are they the native English bluebells or of the different species Spanish bluebell?

Our native ones have narrower leaves, the flowers blue, almost purple and the flowers are just on one side of the stem - those are the main things I think of.

The Spanish have wider leaves, very open flowers that are around the stem and I find the flower colour more towards mid blue. Whilst English bluebells come in white too, the Spanish comes in several shades including pink.

The Spanish bluebell is crossbreeding with ours that are growing wild and is very tough.

Please get them exemption from rights to remain post brexit

Another difference between them is that the UK plant's flowers tend to bend, whilst the Spanish species has more upright flower stems. The Spanish flowers also tend to be more widely open.

Sometimes referred to as 'English' bluebells, they are UK bluebells - my mistake, I apologise
