Your genetic mapping good or bad idea to have this system in place?

kind of good, if they know what they're doing. genetics is the number one predictor of your death and health, although other things also to be considered such as lifestyle.

No chance, why would you want to disclose that information to insurers... Another way for them to bump up premiums

So they can tell me what they think I will die of, and when?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

No. We have no choice in our genetics. We do have a choice in actions and behaviours and insurance companies can put premiums on those.

Or have yours lowered if you have a lower risk of suffering from or developing some illness because that's how insurance works!

No thanks. It's not clear cut in most cases, despite people paying for private reports

i've started wondering how accurate DNA strands actually are since i've started learning about them. they break up easily and the longest genome sequence available at this time is only 60% long and appears in locust anyway.

I think looking both ways before you cross the road is a bigger predictor

Opens the door for genetic modifications and the likes, scary stuff really if in the wrong hands.

Think we all feel ripped off by insurer's already, this proposal is the golden egg for them and a massive social devide unlike anything you could imagine

Why do people view insurers so cynically?

i've been ripped off by them.

they insured my house saying if i lost my items i'd get the money to buy new ones to replace them. i lost my whole downstairs due to a flood and all i got was £700 to replace everything; sofa, carpets, fridge/freezer, cooker, washing machine, kettle, cupboards, table and chairs, idk what else...guess who cancelled their insurance?
