My interpretation;
FuckBuddy: Basically just someone you fuck. Don't particularly care for what's going on in their lives', don't want to know that their Auntie's cat is sick.
FWB: A friend first, a fuck second. E.g... You're friends with someone, you bring up you're horny, they are also horny, you agree to bang, still friends, no intimacy or feelings.
Pet: Fuck knows. Sounds like someone who you have control over, only you fuck them, etc? Idk.
Regular: In between FB and FWB. They're primarily there to fuck, but you're interested in what they're watching on a Friday night, or what's for tea.

Hmm, I don't see it in such harsh terms. I don't know about pets, and 'a regular' covers everyone you meet regularly I guess.
To me the difference is how well you get on socially, apart from sexually.
Someone I call an fb I would expect to chat to in a friendly manner occasionally if one or other of us felt like it, but usually only meet for evenings of sex, albeit with some booze and music and maybe food included, and a lot of laughs and chatting.
It's a bit of a sliding scale up to fwb who are people I chat more with, spend more time with when I see them, and do more social things as well - go out for evenings or away for the weekend etc.
That can become intense and close and verging on an open relationship. In my view the closer you become, the more 'strings' tend to grow, and the more need there is to come to agreement on various points.
But both have become purely friends who I just meet up with for the occasional drink or gig or 'agony aunt' session too, and I like that too.  |

Do these names count if you are married? We tend to refer the the people we play with a 'playmates'. But the ones we meet alone we would describe as 'lovers'. We do use the word 'regular' as well, though to us regular means every couple of months. I would have a different view if I were single.
