The one that got me is grainne heard a multitude of pronouciations
Granny, grainey, it's pronounced Gronya
Siobhan gets me as I have to spell it often, but it sounds nothing like its spelt, so I go sio bhan to remember to spell it correctly |

Even worse than mispronunciation is people hearing a name on the tv and not bothering to learne how to spell it before naming their child... For example, Neve, Neave.... |

I am originally from Dublin but moved to an Irish speaking area. There were names I had never heard of before.
Aodh (pronounced eee)
And one I don't know how to spell but it's pronounced ear-lah.
Because I am a dub I pronounce all the names wrong too |
