So fuckin proud!

My youngest daughter has just come out as having a girlfriend. They are only young teenagers but I'm so dam proud that she's had the balls to do this. It may well be just a fad, she's changed so much over the last 18 months. It's wonderful to see her finding her own place in life and growing up to be a beautiful young lady. I've suspected for a long time that she likes girls and I've always been open and honest with both my girls about sex. I've also always told them never to be ashamed of who they are. Give her another 5 years n she'll prob be on fab.

I adore the fact you clearly have a great bond and have such trust. I was scared to tell my mum anything about all aspects of my life as she was sooooo judgmental. You shouldn't just be proud of your daughter... you should be proud of you too xx |

Awww thank you. Yes I'm the same I come from a very judgmental family. In fact we have already decided to not tell my mother her granny cos she won't be very nice about it. I think I'm more open n honest because of my judgmental background. I never what my girls to be scared of telling me anything! Xxx |

Has anyone seen the Live at the Apollo with Phil Jupitus talking about his daughter having a boy stay over for the first time? I laugh so much at that one because I can see it being me
Long time to go until I even have to think about it.
Wonder if it is a mum daughter thing? I don't think I'll have issues talking to her about anything but I'm not sure I'll want to know more than that  |

Am not happy about this, well done to her and it's great that your proud of her but this is yet another loss for us straight guys fs.
Women and sex toys need tae stop stealing our jobs fs at least have the decency tae share |

I can relate. My daughter is 18 this year. I love that we are so close, but on the flip would be happy not to know so much about that aspect haha.
I'm really happy for you OP. You obviously have a very close bond with your daughter. Shows how well you raised her and how much you love her x |

Yes, we have a very open relationship and they tease me about mr and our sex life. But it's sometimes do I really want to know things. The first time my daughter had her boyfriend over I was mortified lol x |

What a lovely post. My Mom was not judgemental, but very strict as I was growing up. However, we now have a very open relationship and I really can talk to her like she is a best friend. I know she just wants me to be happy and I hope I can have a similar relationship with my two. I have a policy to answer all questions honestly and with an almost teenager it occasionally makes me but I take a deep breath, answer truthfully and feel glad that he can talk to me.
