This is how it goes with Resteraunts I suppose.
But do you think this maybe how it works on fab. One bad apple gave the generalisation of a certain way of thinking. E.g., single males, blah bla blab. You get what I mean. (This post isn't about this point)
I've only ever had a good time on here, what about everyone else? Are you enjoying Fab enough to brush the one bad experience away?

Have you ever been in a group where one person brings everyone down. You get rid of that persons attitude and he thinks more positive, the team play better.

I think most people have the sense to make up their own minds.
In the short time I've been posting on the forum, it seems to me that many who generalise about a whole category in a negative way, tend to ignore or refute any opinion differing from their own, and make contradictions and assumptions that often shoot their objections down in flames. |

I think when I first joined peoples comment got to me a little.
However after becoming more clued up on this site I'm much less bothered by the crap aggressive messages I sometimes get. |

I think you have to realise pretty quickly that not everybody treats you with respect. Some people have their own agenda and your wants and needs aren't something they even think about. Have had a few experiences that have made me change a few things and while mr still says I'm naive I'm a bit more clued up,
Would I let those people ruin this, well no because I'm too stubborn. But if I wasn't it could have completely put us off. |

Do you intentionally look past the shite to look at the good stuff on its way?
This is how I do it. It's not great for a single male here, IF i listened to the posts from others who have become frustrated by this place.
But in fairness, I'm a single male and I've only ever experienced a friendly place. Albiet on the surface. |

I'm stubborn. I think that's why I always convince myself that people will change with time. I do try to persuade negative people to see the good in things.

Think about it...
You go out, food is amazing....you tell a few people
Go out, food is shockingly bad, you tell more because you dont want them having a bad experience..
Believe it or not but its actually something coded in our subconscious mind....a primal protective instinct which started off as "dont go near there, i got bitten/harmed/no food.
Today its just been refined....bad food dont go there... Good food, our secret unless with close friends or family |

Yes I'm an eternal optimist and tend to look for the good in everyone. But yes I'm enjoying myself here. Lots of laughs, and I just hopefully manage to scroll past the negatives. X |

i think the good certainly outweighs the negative.
The one thing that remains a shock for me is the level of really vicious misogyny..but it certainly doesn't for a minute make me tar all men with the same brush at all. |

I don't understand your point.
Insofar as restaurant reviews are concerned, generally the restaurateur does not control the publication of the reviews. The journalist or the review site carry that out. On here, you control which reviews appear on your profile, so who would allow a bad one to appear. Therefore bad reviews have no effect. |

My point was, when you read a negative view on fab (not a verification).

I'm here for fun and amusement and tend not to let other people affect me.
That said I did get stood up twice by one girl and now am over cautious about getting excited when talking to girls. I'm aware it s a generalization but I can't help it. |

Not for me.
We are all here to enjoy the site in different ways, to get what we want.
I think it depends on your personality too. Some folk are rays of sunshine who bring joy and happy thoughts to Fab, other folk are moany gits who bring storms and rainclouds and piss on everyone's chips. |

Having had no experiences through this site it's hard to say, but some of the negative and downright disturbing threads make me wonder if it's worth bothering with. |

No way would I let some negative bits put me off, my fun experiences outweigh the not so good. I don't get involved in other issues unless it directly affects me and I encourage others to just let it go over their head and enjoy the good times |

I seem to have the ability to annoy people without really trying. That has caused a bit of stress but on the whole I'm enjoying myself.
There are times you bite your tongue or just log off and give it a few hours. Something usually comes along to make you forget any negatives |

I've had more good than bad. There have been certain threads that have got my blood boiling at times due to stuff I've seen as ignorant or been extremely passionate about. It's understanding that everyone has differing perceptions of sometimes the exact same thing due to their own experiences etc.
It hasn't put me off, but times where there's been a lack of comedy thread and lots of seriousness/negativity has made me less enthusiastic about hitting the forums.
