I struggle to think of another band that are seen as being as kitsch and cheesy as ABBA but actually have so many dark and disturbing songs.
The Visitors, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room, The Day Before You Came, The Winner Takes It All, Knowing Me Knowing You... Right there you've got songs about loneliness, depression, divorce, stalking, murder, sexual jealousy, political dissidence...
They wrote loads of rubbish songs but when they were good they were ace.
