Just read that the cheapest packed of cigs will cost £8.82 from May 21 and premium cigarettes could cost as much as £10.26 for a 20 deck.
I'm so glad I don't smoke, but used to. I remember when Royals were £1.99 for 24 lol.
(Let's not turn this into a smokers are wrong thread, it's their choice. I'm only commenting on the price) |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
I remember saying I'd give up when they got to £5 a pack, then when they got to £7 a pack. At least I managed it before they got to £10 a pack.
I bank the £200 a month that I would have spent on fags and buy holidays with it. Worth it! |

When I stopped smoking it was about a fiver a packet. I work with someone who has repeatedly said over the years ~ 'I'll give up when it's a fiver etc etc etc" yeah like hell you will.

My mam used to chain smoke about 80 a day, lighting a fresh tab with the one she was putting out. If she was alive today she wouldnt be able to afford to smoke, at a tenner a packet, 280 quid a week |

There was a tiny sweet shop dowm the road from our house when i was young. The little old lady who ran it used to have a counter for the pick and mix sweets and taped to the glass was a ciggie and a match on a piece of card. Her method of advertising, selling them for 10p each |

I remember paying £1.10 for 10 on my way to school back in 97/98. Thankfully it was a habit that didn't stick.
We also had a local shop that would sell them singular for 10p though that was a bit before my time, it was also the only place that would sell cigarettes to anyone regardless of age. |

It's rare to get 20 in a pack now. It's 18 or 19!
When I started smoking, it was £1.29 for 10. 20p each at school or the ice-cream van.
I've been vaping for 2 years, but was only a social smoker anyway, mostly when I used to go drinking. |

My mum and dad have up when they went over 6D. I think royals were £1.99 when i stopped. I read that 27 was the oldest you could be to be able to give up and expect to return to "never smoked before" health. So rightly or wrongly, i gave up. |
