Travelling with work and hotel meets?

I live in Newcastle but travel to Liverpool and more often London with work commitments which nearly always a nice hotel stay.
To make the business trip more fun I normally have a look through profiles local to where I am and try and arrange a meet.
I have noticed quite a few profiles that state they are only looking for no strings fun but are not interested in people travelling to hotels on business trips, why is this? And what's people's thoughts on hotel meets? Some people don't seem keen on them Either?! (This is my first forum post, be gentle!!!) |

I do the same and it's really tough to even get a chat going. Some will be because of distance filters and I think most ladies are looking for regular partners or genuine swingers...which is fair enough really |

It's mostly because they wait until they are in the area and send off messages like 'in hotel now, fancy a meet' as if they are ordering a free online prostitute.
I'm sure things 'might' be different if you make connections well in advance, of travelling etc. That might work better  |

Hi and welcome to the forums 
I frequently get messages from single men who are "staying in a hotel nearby on business, am i free?" I always delete them without reply. I don't want to just be a convenient pussy because i'm close. I would much rather chat for a while and then plan a social meet first. A lot of people do feel the same as me.
Have you considered putting the information on this forum posting onto your profile? If you know yout travel plans in advance you could try contacting people in the area beforehand to invite them for a social. If you get on well you may get a play meet with them next time you are in the area. |

I travel a fair amount and love hotel meets. I tend to search out people on the area in advance and message them also add a meet in the area. Thats worked for me! |

This ^. A long time ago I used to meet a guy in a hotel when he was ever in my area on business. My friends knew him as Mr Premier Inn. We chatted a lot before I first met him and used to chat between meets too.

I'm in the same boat as the OP I travel a lot with work.
I always try and make a connection before I visit an area sending messages two or three weeks in advance.
It's not always easy but it can bring some good fun with the right connections xx |

agree too, i live near heathrow so i get a lot of those messages..i wouldnt do an instant meet with anyone living on my doorstep,as i say on my profile, so why would i change that because someone is in a hotel? I can see it takes a bit of forward planning,but it could be worth it! |

I travel quite a bit with work, and stay in premier inns generally, but only met a few people, and always been arranged well in advance.
Never say I wouldn't do an impromptu meet, but it's not my style as a rule. |

I love a hotel meet, but as we prefer to have time to make a connection and ideally like a social first and we find most guys leave it to the last minute so it doesn't work. Plus the way some approach it you do feel a bit like a cheap alternative to paying for access to the porn channels.
Also we prefer to meet people in an ongoing basis, think it's better when you get to know each other a bit. |

Thanks all, i never use the business meet in a hotel as anything other than mutual fun and not a "pussy call" as someone mentioned.
I do usually message the profiles that I'm interested in a week or so in advance and even suggest meeting for a drink or coffee, mostly you seem to get message me closer to the time and we will see?! Kind of stuck between rock and hard place!
I'm in London this coming Sunday afternoon/night so will have a look this afternoon and message some people!!
Unless anyone has read this and fancies a drink/coffee etc! Staying nearing kings cross! |

This is what I do, message in advance see if we have something in common, any sort of connection.
I'm happy to just have some company, someone to chat to if I'm away for a few days. If anything else happens then it does, never any pressure.
Also handy that FAB covers the states so when I go over there I can have some company also. |

It's for mixed reasons I think. Firstly as many prefer to have a social meet with some time before any sexual meet - and not liking to feel pressured, if someone is just there for a night or so.
Many ideally want a regular no strings buddy, that they may feel a visitor is unlikely to become.
There may be safety aspects for others.
And the big thing is that many have tons of choice, so they eliminate those who are further from their ideal, meaning that visitors are less likely to get a meet than if the same person lived there. (Obviously some may prefer a visitor to resident but my assumption is that overall the majority don't).
There may also be some locals who may know people in the hotel. |

As well as messaging local profiles do you change your location and put up a meet a bit in advance? Might have a better chance of finding people who are open to that sort of meet. |

I always find the small electric kettles in hotel rooms take ages to boil are they are a real bugger to fill using the taps on the bathroom sink.....
