Has anybody been treated for a blood clot in the leg?
I've had cramp in the lower leg for just over a week, last night the doctor met me at the hospital, took 6 phials of blood, kept the courier waiting, then prescribed me thinners, while talking about scans!
I tend to take most things in my stride, but my lack of sleep shows I'm worried |

I had a small surface clot in my lower leg after surgery, did they say whether it was surface or dvt?
I was already on 6,000ml of tinzaparin after surgery but i was put up to 18,000 for a week to break it down.
They should be monitoring it closely but if you have worries speak to them or your gp x |

I haven't personally but my mom had that. Was just a few weeks of having warfarin injections and obviously keeping an eye on the leg. Yes I can understand you being worried but it's a more common occurrence than you think. Hopefully the doctor can explain a bit more to you today. X |

I had a massive pulmonary embolism 11 years ago and spent a fortnight in hospital. Am now on warfarin for life. Was told I was lucky not to come out in a wooden box.

Had a suspected one after staying in hospital for a week. Had to have injections and lots of scans and tests which they did straight away. Hope they sort yours out asap |

Has the doctor diagnosed the blood clot yet?
I think sounds to me if they are doing scans whilst putting you on blood thinning treatment maybe precautionary.
Try to get your head down.....I know it's easier said then done as you will be running on adrenaline....but your body needs a rest and try not to worry too much |

Thankyou to everyone
The good news is that the initial blood test is indicating no clot, so I can come off the thinners,
I'm trying muscle relaxant drugs over the weekend, then looking at a scan next week.
Thankyou all for your concern. |
