"Agreed, but for those of us old enough to remember it generated some brilliant adverts:
"For mash get Smash"
(I'm sure they'll be on youtube if you look)"
They peel them with their metal knives |

Just boil a couple of spuds up, Ben the worst cook couldn't fuck that up. Could they? "

For many reasons I loathe wasting food but on this occasion I give up......
Perhaps I didn't fully understand the instruction |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
"Instant mash has come on the the wallpaper paste it used to be.
I can garuantee that most of you have eaten it in some form in a restaurant without realising.."
Unfortunately I did have the misfortune of eating it, but worse still "re-heated instant mash" I'm still none the wiser as to why you would need to re-heated instant mash! |

My mum used Yeoman for most dinners, as peeling potatoes every night for 8 people was too much. We were used to it and didn't mind it. As we got older we occasionally had pasta, but never rice and always instant mash. |

"Its handy when camping. I have used it a few times camping and aim to serve it to the kids when camping. It's kind of a right of passage. "
Couldn't go wrong with a tin of beans and sausages to go with that |

I tried some of those slimming world recipes, they suggest coating chicken in smash with spices for a kfc fakeaway.
I would have been better dipping the chicken in dust.it was gross. |

My Mackem blood is exceeding thin and rare .....
My proclivity for a Bubble n' squeak banjo was nurtured far from the northern wasteland we share......
I suspect the fortunes of our respective footy teams will result in a lot more bubbles than squeaks next season |

I still think Boro are far better equipped to bounce straight back up than Sunderland ,,,,,
Anyway did I ever mention that Newcastle were by far my favourite footballing team in the region ....

Haha that makes me laugh....I was working in North shields a few years back and noticed people were wearing Newcastle and Sunderland kits.
Talking about it to a Newcastle fan and his thoughts on was it compared to transvestism.

lol...... I have a genuine affinity for all the northern clubs and celebrate the success of each team , the caveat being that I'd rather see any of our teams win a trophy at the expense of a scenario causing the relegation of either of the other sides , but in derby games I feel compelled to cheer on Sunderland simply because they were the side I most associated to through childhood ...... well them Arsenal and Leeds although I got over that phase during puberty ...... |

Yeah I kinda get that as when I was a kid quite a lot of others round here supported leeds....but we were always a second division club then...leeds were doing well in the 1st.
But as they got older all became firm boro fans, well the are when they are doing well |
