Quoted from part 1
Good riddance to this trash, how people that used to work for this tabloid were proud of what they were doing beggars belief. I have heard, "oh it happened before we started working, etc, etc, but the culture was illegality, hypocrisy, and countless lives destroyed.
Funny though from this rot, arose some good. From the stories of suburban and rural farmhouse swinging, I got introduced to the world of swinging.
Whilst the undercover NOTW reporters were making their excuses to leave the heaving, naked sea of lust, I was busy looking for directions to this wonderful world, where everyone seemed to have fun, bar the reporters.
--------------------------------------
--------------------------------------
Thats a good point Rentadread ,i wonder how many people in the scene actually sought it out after the NOTW outing of the party goers in there "tut tut"
exposures.
i remember thinking good on them for having lots of fun, shame the neighbours wont speak to them no more and social services will step in to check the kids are not damaged.I often wondered the general outcomes when society was even less tolerant of anything but the "norm", than they are now ... |

A few of us went for lunch in the city centre and I walked home via the NCT in Central Station and some people were buying five or ten copies of the News of the World
I think they've been watching too much Antiques Roadshow. |

The New of the World was freely available online to anyone today. Still bought my copy of it for nostalgic purposes but I'm not expecting it to be worth anything anyday soon lol |

Re your remarks regarding my quote by Rupert Murdoch concerning the Dalai Lama in the now closed News of the World thread.
I spend several months a year in Nepal in a professional capacity and Rupert Murdoch's statement was big news there long before it reached this country. It was reported in all the newspapers there, and in India, word for word, as I quoted him. It was also discussed at a conference at which I and the Dalai Lama's chief political advisors were present.
Whatever your source was, it was wrong.

My post was meant to be addressed to Wishy-not very good with computers I'm afraid.
On the other hand I'm articulate enough not to have to resort to foul-mouthing. |

The News Of The World claim to be number 1 for news, yet there was a massive story about phone hacking in the week and they didn't even bother to cover it. |

well if you notice i think the mail are getting a bit jittery.. as rather than going after news international, they went after hugh grant and steve coogan... which got a bit of a backlash from readers online...
anyway.. all part of the bigger picture... why would you put up with the toxic brands of british newspapers if you could sell them, and get bskyb instead.... |

Sunday Times under investigation now but I suspect they may exhonerate themselves as they were trying to find a way to rid the country of Gordy the Gaffe sooner rather than later. |

Isn't it funny that public revulsion at the NoTW results in its next edition being a sell-out.
I had to smile at the journalists complaining about getting a bad press.
As if they ever cared when they trampled through people's lives, digging up dirt to sell for a £1 on a Sunday.
