"What's google plus"
its a new social networking thingy ( can you see how technical I am lol )
similar to facebook but with some new features that look very interesting
think one of my "circles" - groups of friends - would be filled with fabs friends..and that the video chat in that circle could be a lot of fun!! |

.
Excellent! I am up the right way, thanks.
Not sure if I would join any social networking site, as I find FB very intrusive. |

It is just another gadget to lure people onto yet another social networking site.
Problem is, according to recent Media reports, the popularity of sites like Facebook and Twitter etc. is waning. People are shunning them!
Plus, these forms of sites are highly prone to hackers. I do have a FB account, but will visit it only once a month or so.
It doesn't rule my life, unlike some saddoes in this world who seemingly can't do without it. |

I've been messing about with Google+ for a couple of weeks now we get avance invites for stuff like this at work being in the industry and it is probably a better product than facebook.
As with any social networking, it's about take-up. You can have the best interface and feature set in the market but if no one uses it, it's dead in the water.
Only time will tell, although everything 'social networky' Google turns it's hands to usually fails, anyone remember Google Wave? No I didn't think so lol.
On a plus point in my Google+ I have made a circle of hate that I drop people into. It's very pleasurable. |

Hopefully Google+ will force Facebook to take privacy matters far more seriously than they have done so far. Previously they never really had any competition - MySpace messed it up, as did Friendster... hopefully Google will do a better job.
I've had a quick look at it and I like the idea of restricting stuff to circles of friends, as opposed to just allowing every one of your Facebook friends to view your posts.
But in the same way that I preferred Yahoo chat over MSN but stayed with MSN because that's what everyone else was using, I'll only make the switch to Google+ if everyone else does. Just hope they're not all thinking the same thing. |
