care about our planet?

Are you a live for today and fuck the future generation type or vice versa?

Think I try and do my bit here and there, i could do more but sometimes I think what's the point when all around me I see people in authority not giving a shit.

Things like global warming the ozone and other environmental issues are mainly man made and continue to grow our Governments are great at passing and enforcing laws for minor things but things like space missions, nuke bombs, warfare and industrialisation have the biggest impact on the destruction of our planet, they're the main culprits fs, dafuq is the logic in that?

i've just done a course in bio ethics. i passed 86% btw, only struggled with the parts on assisted death and suicide.

main point now is who is responsible for cutting down pollution and paying for causing it and rectifying it. and it isn't just based on who causes the most pollution either, nor who profits from that. it's based on how a country (and it's people) benefits from using resources and causing pollution. as well as how it done in the past too. seriously. if countries have advanced without causing much pollution this really isn't taken into affect either. it seems kind of fucked up how they work this stuff out even.

thanks ellie may.

am halfway through a course on developmental psychology and some of the experiments done on monkeys is quite sad. most of the ones done on little kids are fun and involve puppets.

i love learning about neuropsychology but most of what they do goes against my ethics on animal treatment.

To be fair I am pretty distracted by the grind of everyday life. Often too busy with the things that affect me immediately like work, raising the kids, housework, my numerous interests/hobbies and fab of course.

I do as much as i can to be green.

I recycle like crazy. I even bring stuff home from work to recycle cus my workplace doesnt recycle.

We have a car that is as green as we could afford.

We are good at keeping the house warm and not waste heat. We dont buy stuff unless we need it.

I know these are small things to do but if everyone did them it would all add up.

I would like to re train to work in this field but i cant give up work so i will continue to do the small things i can do.

I recycle, switch off lights, thats about the most I do.

I dont care much about water usage as it pours down rain every day of the year in Ireland.

I'am concerned about coastal erosion but feel, the earth is like a human, every year its going to get older and have a little piece of it erode away.

As for car pollution, its impossible to combat this in Ireland and public transport is rubbish in citys, non existent in rural areas and too expensive.

My workplace encourages us to cycle to work ... no chance for me to be able to do that.

They also encourage us to car share ... that might be possible if we all lived in the same place and worked the same shifts lol

Why when we know in the long term traditional cars are bad for the planet and the technology now exists to switch every car to electric or hybrid or just go back to horse and carriage days do Governments still choose to risk damaging the Earth?

little house on the praire

Not as much as i should.

I dont own a car but if more was done about public transport in this country then fewer people would own cars.

Packaging. Do we really need the amount of packaging that is used. These are just minor things. I worry for my grandchildren and to be honest if worry about bringing a baby into the world. Thankfully those days are over for me

Because the pollution caused by making a new car is far more than the saving made by the new technologies to run it.

Old cars are actually more environmentally friendly when production is taken into account

not really fussed, but i dont agree with all the rubbish we get forced to know, like scrap diesel cars, green tax etc..

when asia does not recycle or give a damn about anything like this, europe recycling will do nothing to help the world, unless we are in a bubble it will have no effect.

until asia and usa get greener i have no interest in helping towards it.

if all people were encouraged not to use them the price of oil would go down as there'd be less demand for it.

i don't have a car but can see the advantages of having one, especially now my knees are fucked and one day if i can't even walk to a bus stop i will struggle then.

Ok im giving up at this point while i work out where my workplace will place all the horses and carriages that our 40 staff will have come to work on lol.

I do think the government should do more for the enviroment but im limited in enforcing that. My vote could alter that but i live in an area that always votes the torys in !

I do what i can which is more than many others.

horse and carriage still use resources, are less convenient, and where you gonna put them all? but they would be more economically friendly than cars.

none of these issues are straight forward really. they involve a lot of social change that most people would not be willing to commit to, and i get why they wouldn't. some changes are not even feasible at all.

I think I'm quite concerned to be honest. I recycle as much as I can and what I eat is best for the environment. I don't drive much and reuse things as much as possible along with a few other things.

We only get one planet earth so should try and preserve it as much as possible

H xx
