Do business ladies...

Ever check fab for a guy staying in the same hotel?

So I travel with my job and nothing is more dull than eating on your own, drinking in a bar on your own and ending up in a faceless room to sleep on your own...

I often see single ladies clearly away from home and on business but I don't want to go up and open a conversation as some of my female colleagues have said that when guys do that it's a bit intimidating/ creepy....

I always log into fav to see if anyone is near and put up he hotel I'm starting at in my status, I've had the odd bloke message asking if I've had any luck! But no ladies...

Any thoughts??

Well I'm no lady but I do travel with work now and then.

I'll mainly try and get out and about and do some sight seeing if I'm somewhere new and central and time allows. Otherwise I'll tend to do room service and crash out in my room on my own rather than lurk in the bar / restaurant on my own (I'm just a simple boy really!) but I agree it would be nice to mix business and pleasure sometimes.

I don't think I'd approach a lone female in the hotel bar in such circumstances - it would have to a pre-arranged thing through the site.

Nr Dumfries

I don't stay in hotels often with work but when I have there's never anyone in the "who's near". I'm happy and confident eating by myself or in a hotel bar. I usually find some random to chat to but it's never gone further than that without it being pre-arranged. I don't mind strangers talking to me in a hotel bar as long as they don't push it if I say I'd prefer my own company.

Maybe there should be an "away on business" room for all us travellers...

The "who's nearby" feature on here is absolutely dire in terms of accuracy.

It's nowhere near accurate enough for that.

But I think it might be deliberate for obvious safety reasons.

But it is VERY out of whack even at that.

I did have a lady message me once when I was staying in a hotel in Wales in the middle of nowhere. She wasn't at the hotel but in the tiny village down the road. She guessed I was at the hotel as she had never seen anyone on fab so nearby.

It actually worked for me about a year ago when on my old profile myself and a Scottish lady who is still on here both found each other on who is near staying in a hotel in Norwich x had a good laugh and a few late night drinks in the hotel bar x

Never worked since though

If I travelled with work then yes, I would, even if it was for someone to have dinner with.

Talk to women in bars, but don't be creepy and intimidating.

That's what I think my colleagues meant about imtimidating, the creepy bit was waiting for me to get to the bar one evening (well about 5:30pm) a guy started talking to her, gave her his business card and said oh and I'm in room xxx with a wink, that was creepy! She almost ran to me in the bar when I walked in! Alas no fun to be had with her though..
