Are men more fashion conscious nowadays

I have two boys, one teen and one early 20s and I was relieved that I wouldn't get the constant following of fashion and pinching each others clothes that girls do - I was wrong.

The two of them are like fashionistas. The eldesat is working so I only buy clothes for him if its a birthday/christmas or if I see something in a sale that he would like. I buy all the youngests clothes and I'm never out of Topman and River Island.

Its not just the clothes, twisted seamed jeans, jeans with cuffs on the bottom or cropped jeans, checked shirts, skinny jeans and ankle boots, they are also into accessories like hats, scarves, necklaces, belts. They are as bad as any girl.

So is it just the younger guys who seem to keep up with current trends or do you feel that men in general take greater care over appearance. Do the older guys stick to their own classic style or do you want to keep and feel young and buy fashionable clothes.

Will men ever have as many shoes as women

I like stylish more than fashionable ones... Can be last season or this but if it has something different about it ... I will buy.

I stick to classics and hope they have style, refuse to accessorise beyond a watch and one ring + cufflinks in the evening.

Polished shoes are a must.

As i'm female, I cant reply for the whole male population but I do find it entertaining when a more mature gent attempts to copy the complete wardrobe of someone 30 years his junior, together with pumps and his trousers halfway round his backside.

Fashion suitable for oneself seems a concept a proportion of both sexes haven't fathomed yet though men do seem a little further behind than women.

And as for shoes... after 5 years my other half and I are nearly equal (note to self, buy more shoes! )

I'd say I'm smart but casual, work wear is formal so I prefer to dress down when I'm out, nice shirt or Tee with jeans does me fine

Some women will buy all their mans clothes, the men are so disinterested in clothing that they are willing to let someone else decide how they're going to look

That, I believe, is the origin of Man at C&A.

It's a short, but very slippery, slope from letting a woman buy your clothes to letting her think she can have sex with you whenever she chooses

That's quite worrying.

Do they still put C and A in their knickers so women will know which way they go on?

little house on the praire

I only had a son, no daughters but i swear a girl wouldnt of been half as bad. When he lived at home he would change his clothes three times aday, always had two baths a day lasting about an hour, plus i needed a gas mask to get near the bathroom cause of the stink of whatever he was wearing. Cause hes not been working hes been limited to what clothes he can buy. But now hes got a job it will go on clothes no doubt

Jesus never wore socks with his sandals, he'd never make such a fashion faux pas

I'd be disappointed at being thought of as mainstream anything, especially tv.

I'm the absolute in sartorial elegance...

Hiking boots, jeans and humerous slogans on t-shirts are the last word in high fashion, and will never be dated.

Spent the day clothes shopping with my youngest yesterday, he's off on holiday in a few days so needed the lot, top to toe.

He was more picky than I ever remember his sister being at his age (13)

Trouble is, he is a shave under six foot tall but like a beanpole, had to buy all his clothes from adult male ranges so was tricky not to make him look dressed in his dads cast off's!

I have to admit, and no offence to the guys who love footy shirts, but I hate to see guys in them. In my eyes they are ok if you are going to the game, otherwise I dont like them.

if a guy turned up to meet me wearing a football shirt, it wouldnt necessarily put me off, if he was a nice friendly guy then that is what matters, but I would wish that he hadnt worn the football shirt

The land of grey peas and bacon

I have to admit to buying clothes for men because the guys I have dated have had no fashion sense... So I used to buy clothes if I was out.. I have to say I much prefer buying clothes for men than me..
