You send an ex a happy birthday text or not? Granted they're an ex and you want to forget them however how can you just forget all the memories and ignore your emotions or is that the best thing to do? |

Depends on the relationship with your ex. I di my ex's laundry, bought his clothes, sorted his bills, did his tax returns for 7 years post split. Yes, we sent cards.
Now he has a new lady, we have cut ties, as it is not appropriate now. |

Ignored - it just opens old wounds for him or you. Im just breaking up with mine. He's young and very needy. Ive gone back with him so many times that Im actually making the split even more painful. My heart is hard this time.
Cruel to be kind ! ..... ( bloody hell Im now singing that song in my head ) xx |

Completely depends on how it is now, either your reaching out as a way of forging another relationship?
If your still in speaking terms yes, if you haven't spoken since you last saw each other and it was a screaming match- probably a no |

It's hard, we've both got new partners now and haven't spoken, texted or social media'd in months, yet I feel the urge to wish her a happy birthday cause for some fucked up reason I woke up remembering it
Even strangers on fb get a happy birthday wish from me yet am finding it difficult to send a wish to the woman I had some of my happiest times with, life is weird fs.
On one hand I think what harm can it do? its no like I want to get back together, I don't, it just feels like the right thing to do, I know if she sent me one I wouldn't mind but on the other hand I don't want to confuse her or open up any old wounds. It's a toughie fs.

You should put your feelings to one side and do what's best for her. It's her birthday after all,.

Your doing the right thing not restricting access, some people male and female just aren't ready to be a parent but that can change one day |

There are plenty of card shops on the high street and card sites online so I'm guessing I'm not the only one who still does...lol. My mistake though for not reading your opening message correctly. |

If you are both on farce buk, then perhaps a chirpy 'Happy Birthday' dropped in amongst all the others might be ok. If you are in two minds however, personally I would err on the side of caution and let it go un acknowledged. |
