A water purifier at home! Fill my bottle with purified tap water! And it tastes better than bottle because it hasnt been in a plastic bottle! And its cold so no need to take room in fridge! Also does hot! Cant live without it now

Tap generally as bottled water producers are in many instances depleting supplies that they have no right to. In California it's horrific, where the state has had many years of drought but nestle and others take state water and bottle it up. A huge con.

Nah you pay for the water you waste. The water is free. But we are charged for draining it away if we don't consume it.

Thus if all you used from the public supply was water to drink then you would pay nothing.

Why is there this fixation with salt?

If you evaporate most tap or bottled water (sea water excepted of course), then the biggest mineral deposits that you will be left with will be calcium, not salt.

It's the salt that makes it tastey though.

If I accidently bought a desalinated bottle of water I'd have no choice but to season it.
