How many copies of your favourite novel do you own?

And when is enough enough?

I've had three copies of Salem's Lot by Stephen King - my favourite King novel - for quite a while... a vintage copy with a cover illustration inspired by the original mini series, a tatty version with deleted scenes and short stories, and an extended version that's my reading copy.

But I now have three copies of It - my most favourite novel - which are a large 1986 hardback copy, a large paperback copy, and I've just bought a 1987 paperback edition which'll be my reading copy as it's smaller than the other two. (It's over 1,000 pages after all.)

But at what point can you have too many copies?

I collect copies of one particular book. Wherever I go, whenever I find a copy I purchase it. It's not necessarily my favourite book, but it holds meaning for me.

.

Only three. One is a first edition, the other was a uni text and is annotated so rather irritating to read for pleasure. And the third is from a dear friend who thought I'd like that particular edition.

My favorite is not a novel.

It's a strategy book and I have 2 copies, because it's extremely DIFFICULT to find, if you are lucky enough to find it, it will cost you about £2,000 quid..yeah for a book.

I have 2 and I paid £600 for both of them, becuase you just never know if your house is gonna get burned down and I might not be able to grab them.

They are all about Advertising/ copywriting.

It contains advertising secrets of copywriting powerhouses through the centuries.

Brighton - even Hove!

Nice one on the salems lot - I have a first edition, the extended version and a paperback for a reading copy. I've got 4 different versions of Mortal Engines, signed, numbered and stamped, first edition, paperback, proof copy.
