I read though that to generate some of the electric they burn biomass such as wood pellets. Some campaigners say that using wood pellets to generate electricity is speeding up, not slowing down, climate warming. So who knows yet, if the way forward is necessarily a good thing.

Half was gas

25% nuclear

The rest a mix of biomass, and other sources

I'm sure I read that Scotland is self sufficient in terms of Wind Power being able to provide 100% of its electricity needs

Lots of very still wind farms around. As a source wind isn't exactly predictable. Doh!!
