So I'm finally going through with getting my first tattoo on Wednesday. Been told to get Dr Numb cream in amazon but it won't arrive in time. Does anyone know where I can get some locally or recommend an alternative? |

Had mixed reviews, I didn't have anything and it hurt like hell, but apparently some creams wear off and then the pain is worse, don't know how so could just be hearsay..
Big one or small one?
I'm currently looking for a decent cover up.. |

That's got to hurt a bit on the top of your foot, although I'm sure girls have a higher pain threshold than guys, so I'm sure even if you don't get any cream you should be ok..
I watched a girl getting her ribs tattooed the other night and she was hard as nails, very impressive.
I've heard 'oil of cloves' is supposed to work, but not sure where to get it.. |

You shouldn't need it but check with your tattooist before you apply anything different to what they've recommended. I had the whole top of my foot done as a first tattoo and yes, it hurt, but there are so many clusters of nerve endings there that by the time one was on agony the tattooist had moved onto the next. And don't take painkillers until afterwards; some can make you more susceptible to bleeding. |

My tattooist recently completed 3 hours on my leg. I discussed numbing cream but he said it makes the skin soggy n hard to work. In his words anyone can manage an hour. At 2.5 I asked for some. He said no point. It takes 10 minutes to work x |

It depends on your own pain threshold....the tattooist might have numbing cream in, chat to your tattooist before they start.
I've found that when I'm watching its not as painful. Different areas are different pain, I've had 10, 3 are big and took 8 hours each and the longer it was being done the more painful it got, scratching over the same point over and over, thats how it felt.....but the most memorable pain i got was from a small tattoo i have on the side of my hand!
Everyone is different and you won't know till it starts, it looks beautiful and i hope its not too painful

I had my foot tattoed a couple of years ago, didn't find it as painful as i'd imagined. Took just over 2 hours to do; the most painful bits was near the ankle and just before my big toe - think it was going over a tendon.
But for me getting tattoed is about the whole experience and that includes feeling them tattooing. It seems quite mixed responses from tattooists on whether they recommend numbing creams on not

Stay clear of these three pabarhem. E45 cream and Vasline.
Pabarhem has a new ingredient which is cheaper to make but still costs same to buy but people have complained if rashes.
Vasline takes color out and is not good
And E45 changed ingredients also and not like it used to be.
Often now tattooists sell on cream I got some on my last one and it is awesome.
Good look with your first tattoo.
P.S you will probably get more as most people say very addictive |

Don't put anything like that on your skin, take the artists recommendations. Bupanthum is one of the best creams to put on afetr |

Don't use numbing cream it can mess the skin up and the tattoo can look bad, take a drink and some sweets with u to help with it blood sugar, it will drop while having the tattoo, also take an iPod or something, find some good tunes close it eyes and zone out, before u know it, it will be over

Sugary drink and lots of deep breathing is all you need! Pain killers arent necessary at all neither is numbing cream.. it hurts but nothing that is unbareable.
Tattoo goo with lavendar oil in worked best on my tattoos afterwards |

Don't get a tattoo if you can't sit through the pain.
I'm fine with it until I pass the 3 hour mark, after that it gets really uncomfortable for me.
Sugary drinks and breathing properly work, don't tense up like bracing for pain. |

best way numbing cream works is by not allowing swelling after.
i've had both feet done and one foot without cream and it swole up so much i had trouble walking for a few days. the other with numbing cream and i was fine after.
i did feel it helped with the pain but it might have been my tattooist was more careful (i had them done by 2 different tattooists), but afterwards was where i experienced the biggest difference.
and emla cream is fine, so long as you're not allergic to the ingredients. |

I had a largish tattoo on my lower rib cage a couple of years ago and I didn't use any numbing cream. My tattooist just advised me to drink sugary drinks and sweets. Not going to lie the shading killed me after being there three hours, but the end result was worry the pain |

I went in expecting it so hurt like the worse pain in the world and when found it was a bit like a cat scratch was then stupidly easy to sit through |

I had numbing cream when I had my lips done and ive had all my tatts done without numbing cream. Tbh i saw no difference in using the numbing Creme and I have a high threshold for pain. Good luck, I'm getting my new one on tues.
