So, someone new popped up on my updates thingy today so i thought I'd say hi.. had a read of their elongated profile and commented on a few bits to make conversation.. as you do.
Snotty message back that it was a copy/paste message.. i replied (politely) saying that it wasn't and that it would be rather difficult for it to be. She replied saying I'd sent it to her friend too.. I haven't messaged anyone new in aaaaaages lol
So now she's apparently going to tell everyone that I'm a liar.. 
Why are people so damn strange?! |

Same reason everyone (mostly women) are on another thread that's live at the moment.

Ah well, I'm sure I'll live.. just felt the need to vent 
I wouldn't mind if I blanket mailed every bugger, but I don't.. I'm fairly happy talking to those i know already these days.
Oh well.. hopefully she'll find a nice tasty window to lick instead  |

I inadvertently blame the female to male ratio, seems to give some ideas above their intelligence, looks, desirability etc! |

Hmm. I have sent a similar (but not snotty) eventual message back to someone before when he referred to the fantasy I had put on my profile (I haven't got one listed) and then chatted to a female friend of a fab friend to discover she had received the exact same message verbatim. Turns out he was going through the veri list of said mutual fab friend and messaging all of us with the same copy and paste message. I gave him every opportunity to 'fess up out of a sense of intrigue as to how far he would let the conversation go and even when he knew what I was alluding to he wouldn't. So in your case it's unfair to jump to such conclusions but believe me, such occurrences are far from uncommon. For me, it puts cynicism front and centre when receiving a decent message. But I hold off on responding from the viewpoint until my spidey senses stop tingling. |

Don't get me wrong, I know it happens and I understand that it must be tough to keep cynicism in check but I'd hope even the quickest scan of my profile wouldn't put me in that category.. I'm inclined to think there was something else at play to be honest.. maybe knows me and panicked.. who knows. |

I said the same to a guy I met recently....we were talking about stroppy deanding profiles and the user is not that hot! |
