I consider myself submissive, but I'm not into heavy BDSM or pain, nor do I want someone who calls themselves a dom. I do like a bit of restraint, like bondage tape, but the idea of trusting someone to the extent that I'm willing to pass my sexual power onto them totally blisses me out and soothes me, so much so that I've almost fallen asleep while being spanked before.

Sounds perfectly normal to me - the basic feeling of restraint and/or sensory deprivation (blindfolds, earphones playing music) is an excellent tool to immediately heighten our in-built responses to stimuli.
