So we all know how much others we spend time with at home , work or online have an effect on who we are and who we become.
Is there a significant person or people on fab who/whom have had an effect on who we are while online? Positive or negative. No names required unless you want to, but maybe share how.
I'll start, there are a few who fall in this categiry but there is one who has left who is a great friend. Am greatful for her shared insight into whose who on here. A true lady and very perceptive. I'll continue with others later. |

"No-one changes who I am online, I strive always to be authentic, but some change my behaviour I guess - good and bad."
Interesting.... yes I can see that in myself too. |

I think a few on here have made me more perceptive to how people can be someone they're not online.
I used to be fairly naive but I'm getting the hang of the whole online fibbing and general bulls**t that goes on daily.
It's taken some weeks to figure that out but glad for the negative experiences. They only help you learn from mistakes and become a lot more savvy.
All hail the numpties! |

"Tink/Knitter made me think hard about the way I spoke to somebody once.
I've been more thoughtful since I think whilst still saying what i feel "
Hi Hanky.... A great trait indeed. .. keeping true to your beliefs can be hard at times if face of adversity especially on here. |

Still a lot to learn but with the right people around me, I can't go far wrong surely.
Even the worst experiences in life enable you to learn and move on stronger than before.
There's a few I've talked to who I will keep as fab friends, those who know a lot more than I do. I call them my fab guru friends. I don't think they've changed me personally, I'm quite set in my ways now, but they've enhanced my experience of the site.

I certainly try and if I can't word it in a way that doesn't sound nasty then I have just learnt not to say it.
Nobody is worth getting a forum ban for! |

Not really. But this thread has. . I very much put down what I think. If someone pulls me up, I might try to explain it if when reading back if I didn't put my point across well. But I don't change me. |

I think I'm very cautious sometimes, I enjoy the forumites company but still think I'm a bit naive in lots of ways.
I'm soon learning when to scroll past some conversations so I can stay true to who I am. I think the one thing that has changed since being on here is I'm more open sexually, but that's good isn't it. X |

No. I'm very aware that you can't rely on anybody on the net to be the person they're presenting. So while I will give the benefit of the doubt to everyone I won't change how I react because of how a person seems to be. |

"Yes, they helped me enjoy it a lot more. And also helped me remember that sometimes it is not worth it."
It's good to get a right perspective and that's what friends here can do best for us. |

I met a young man (late 20s) online quite a few years back. It didn't last, but changed how I saw younger men.
I started talking to more men who were not strictly my age range, and this eventually led to me meeting my current long term partner partner, 15 years younger than I am.

Goes to show that it can often pay to think outside the boundaries we set ourselves for whatever reasons they may be. There's often a surprise or 3 we'll never know about if we stick rigidly to things.
Great post. |

Yes there is a lady on fab who has enlightened and brightened my world. However I have always been a social chameleon and an almost paradox with the people that I engage with. |
