We put people into mental pigeon-holes as it enables us to continue with our own personal World View. Humans don't like being confronted with people who confound them, who they can't 'nail down', so we create labels and stereotypes that we slot them into, and any that can't be placed go into the 'Miscellaneous' stereotype.  |
