I was saddened to read this just now on the BBC News site.

Clifton James, the actor who played Sheriff J.W. Pepper in two James Bond films, has died aged 96.

Along with the character of Jaws he was probably one of the best known, and maybe best loved, characters in the series.

R.I.P.
