Bonjour there, happy Easter.
Just a quick query if any of you can help us, basically buying our first house together and looking at all things and one of the things looked at is in a few years getting a hottub.
Just wondering, if you have one, does it take alot of cost to upkeep I.e. water bills/ water meter and electric
Mainly does it use alot of water if your on a water meter? |

First of all you need to know how much water is in your spa.
A 2-seater spa will hold about 650 litres.
A hot tub with 4 seats might hold about 1250 litres.
A large spa that can seat 7 or 8 bathers will be somewhere between 1800 and 2300 litres.
depending on your hot tub the lazy way is to heat it by electric but you can also heat it by a wood stove and also maintain it at that heat
Litres of water divided by the average number of people in the spa for a 20 minute session each day divided by 12. That gives you the number of days between each water change.
For a typical family spa that formula should be telling you to drain and refill your hot tub about every three months. |
