Now watching films that came out in 1981. Recommend me some.
Will list my favourite 1980 movies soon.
Takes me two months to watch 40 films 'per year' and I started in 1915. Won't catch up to modern times for another decade!
Do a forum search for the other years starting from 1977. |

What nobody remembers Excalibur? Clash Of The Titans, Southern Comfort and Condorman! Postman Always.....
Das Boot, short film version perhaps not the miniseries. One Flew Over a Cuckoos Nest was an older film. |

Condorman is a bloody terrible film! Southern Comfort, like all of Walter Hill's movies from that period, is a minor classic |

Well my favourite last year's films (1980) are:
The Empire Strikes Back
The Gods Must Be Crazy
The Blues Brothers
Superman 2
Aside from these greats the others were lackluster. a very top heavy year for movies. |

Chariots of Fire is an outstanding film; lots of very personal memories.
I will be extremely impressed if you had run a 3 minute mile; the current World Record is 3:43.13 (Hicham El Guerrouj).
No idea on my fastest mile, but I was timed at 15 minutes over a three mile course.

I don't remember whether they came out in 1981, but it was the year I discovered French films late at night on TV.
They invariably had boobies or a flash of sophisticated, elegant Gallic muff in them.
A stunning revelation as puberty hit |

I Forgot to add "Hawk The Slayer" to the list. |

I didn't rate Long Good Friday, nor last years Apocalypse Now. For a good gangster film see, you mostly have to go to the 1940s, see
Apart from the excellent "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square (1979)"

"Roadhouse "
That was 1989.
That was eight years before I was born, but the two that I thought of from the top of my head are The Evil Dead & American Werewolf In London. |

Good movie and about the only one I've heard of!
One of my favourites from 'those days' is The Deerhunter that I saw in 1977!
