I saw the foo fighters at the MK bowl at the weekend and they blew me away - Dave Grohl is such a charismatice front man you forget theres a whole band ! despite the horrendous traffic getting out of the city, and being too old to be getting home with the dawn Im still buzzing!
who's been memorable for you ? |

Funniest gig ever was the Gang Show II at The Academy. Saw the Stones in 1989 at Wembley Stadium...can't really remember much about it at all, worst gig ever, Climie Fisher at Dominion Tottenham Court Road...okay, we all have guilty secrets!

Hmmm, Springsteen at Roundhay Park 80,000 folk or Bramall Lane 30,000
Or Frankie Miller in a pub 200+.
Guess it's you me darlin'.
Now the gig you'd have liked to have been at?
25.11.76 Winterland, San Francisco, a collection of talent unlikely to be seen again.

Radiohead playing the Buckley Tivoli supporting some awful indie band. It was 6 months before they made it big, they were amazing and you knew it was only a matter of time before they made it big. |

Past number of years I have ben managing an unsigned band that have supported a few named bands over the past few years and have headlined a few good ones themselves in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Hamilton etc....

"wow that must have been something Grant
" It was. The Tivoli was a odd little club in a small town near where I grew up, but they had bands on each week including some big names that played after they had made it big. Oasis for one |

One of the very last Bauhaus concerts in 1983 at Aylesbury Friars. I saw them on 11th June 1983 (still got the ticket and had to go find it lol), and they disbanded a month later on the 5th July 1983 after their last gig at Hammersmith Palais.
The thing I remember most about the concert was that they never performed Bela Lugosi's Dead as they were signed to record label Beggar's Banquet and Bela was released when they were signed to a small inde label and they were in dispute with them over the song. Bela is 9 minutes long and I was gutted they didn't play it. |

I went to see Coldplay and the Doves a few years back with a group of friends at Boltons football ground.
Was an amazing night and whenever i hear the song "Fix you" i think of that day, As they filmed the crowd for the video.
I also remember being stuck in the carpark, next to the ground till just before 1am as the roads were jammed. So we had to walk round the 24 hour asda lol |

Queen in St James's Park, Newcastle 1986 was a stand out along with Squeeze at the Newcastle Mayfair (long since gone)around 1988ish which had the best atmosphere of any gig I've ever been to. |

they're awesome! the only gripe i had is that they did their album "matter of life and death" from start to finish with not much else in the way of maiden classics. i'm still trying to get a ticket for manchester though at the end of july. |

"I dont go to gigs but a girl i know is going to wembley friday to see take that and im very envious"
My eldest went on Monday. She said it was full of girls around her age 28, who remembered them first time around. She said Robbie touched her hand...she's in seventh heaven, what with meeting Nadal - who she's in love with and Robbie all in one week.
She did make me laugh, I remember buying all the Take That stuff for her when she was nine, it's like the last 19 years haven't happened.
For me the two best gigs I went to was Luther Vandross - God that man was a legend, pitch perfect, and Stevie Wonder. Four hours of Stevie on the stage, unlike the half hour I paid £50 for to hear the Isley Brothers at the Albert Hall to just sing a medley of their songs! |

I'm rather jealous of this, would have loved to have seen Bauhaus. Shame about BLD. |

Guessing it would have been either The Frank and Walters or The Sultans of Ping. Saw them supporting both of those bands around that time. You are right you could tell that they were going to make it big but I disagree on them being amazing, I remember Creep standing out and being underwhelmed by the rest of it |

Loads of candidates.
PULP last week at Glasto was pretty impressive.
Manic Street Preachers more than once playing pubs in Brum in the days Richiw was on stage but his guitar was never plugged in.
The Pixies reunion gigs in 2003 at Brixton Acadamy.
Jaynes Addiction back in the 90's at the Brum Hummingbird.
Mick Jones, Wayne Kramer and Billy Bragg playing Kick out the Jamms and Jail Guitar Doors at a pub in Camden.
Loads more, I could go on all day |

David Bowie - Radio 2 Studios at Maida Vale in 2002. Only 50 people there. It made a nigh on 40 year obsession worthwhile. You could have just shot me then and I would have been happy.
.
Prince at the O2..Simply fucking awesome.
.
Peter Gabriel - Growing Up Tour |
