I've had my HP for just about two years now and on Saturday the lid (where one of the screen hinges mounts to) has broken.
I understand from the numerous posts on forums and elsewhere on the interweb that this is a common fault on this model and would appear to be a design failure.
Considering I use this machine for work, this is extremely frustrating and I am unlikely to buy from HP again as a result of it.
When you consider that, by it's very design, a laptop screen will be folded open and closed on every use - which, in some cases, could be many times a day.
Never had a problem with laptop screen hardware in the past and really am surprised that, of all makes, HP should be of such poor quality. |

I'd buy new myself. Or atleast refurbished. You want a 12 month warranty with whatever you buy
Check out the outlet stores for places like Curry's
Personally I'm making the switch to a Chromebook. I need a break from windows |

We've had our HP laptop 6 years now, think we paid around £250 for it in Curry's. There are plenty of offers to be had by shopping around without going second hand. |
