Brighton - even Hove!

.....are you surprised at what people look like and aren't like what you imagined them to be? Or what?

Yes! Often. The mental image is rarely what hits the inbox. I'll imagine blondes as brunettes and vice versa etc, it's always nice to put a face to a name!

Yeah quite often! Especially people you see a lot kicking about the forums, I think you get a mental imagine by their character.

I've seen lots of women's faces but hardly any blokes (unless they're in public) - yours Steve is one of the few I've seen and I think I mentioned you looked nothing like I imagined! (but in a good way!)

It annoys me when you send a face pic and they don't send one back, I tend not to visualise people beforehand so never had the 'surprise' factor but I can't see a situation where I'd stop talking to someone if they didn't look like I imagined ( or hoped) they would

Only really when it comes to hair colour or lack of hair. I don't know if my face has ever surprised anyone but I get a lot of comments about my eyes following a face pic so maybe people see the ends of dark hair in my public pics and assume I won't have light eyes?

And then you meet them and it can be another surprise/shock... as they may have sent you an up to date pic.... but they just don't look the same

".....are you surprised at what people look like and aren't like what you imagined them to be? Or what? "

Yeah.

Sometimes good sometimes bad.

Got a face pic off a couple the other week and the odd thing was HE was exactly how I imagined, but SHE wasn't.

She was still hot, I just had a different representation in my head.

I hate sending face pics so tend often as not to have one or two public most of the time these days, in order to avoid that particular ordeal.

As far as others' go, I don't think I've ever been hugely surprised. Mostly it's men who turn out to be bald(ing) which momentarily surprises me - that's not a criticism per se - but most men tend to make a big deal of how 'ugly' they are beforehand, so the actual face pic is usually better than I'd imagined anyway.

I'm still never sure how to politely say I don't find someone facially attractive though - I don't want to cause hurt

I'm always surprised but it's rarely a bad surprise, just different to how I pictured it. And hair colour too, sometimes my brain fills in the blanks where it's not obvious and it makes her look totally different when I meet. But different is good in my book.

I just tend to say that they aren't my type. If someone pushes I will then bluntly say it's because I (personally) don't find them attractive. Some guys get it some don't. I find some guys who have quite a few veries take it worse than the ones who only have one or two. Even more so if they are "typically" attractive. But to me, I either like a face or I don't. And face is actually much more important to me than body/penis size.

And yes, many a time I've been surprised. Either because of the way they speak or even from seeing something like just eyes on profile, you can imagine a whole face from eyes but rarely is it what you've thought haha.

I try not to form a pre conceived image of what I think some one looks like.

I've had the "oh you're not what I was expecting" response a few times....that's basically just an "oh, you're no where near as good looking as I'd hoped"

Absolutely. I think I'm yet to have an unpleasant facepic sent.

Genuinely only share one on FPF or out of courtesy if I receive one as part of a message

Personally I only send a pic to someone I want to meet. So if I don't fancy someone I won't send a face pic. What do you expect a woman/man/couple to say? "I don't wanna meet but here's my face anyway" the way some guys act on here, I wouldn't trust some of them to not try and find me elsewhere and "out" me (as SOME not all, guys do) or see me in public and say something.

Yes I'm well aware "Not all guys are like that" but some are and I don't like taking that risk with my privacy. I've been abused and threatened after turning a guy down, no way am I sending a face pic along with a rejection message.

And subsequently when you meet them in person it changes again.

Had a few we've though 'hmmm' about then you meet them in the flesh, so to speak, and really quite pleasant.

To be fair there are many people whose face doesn't match the body! It's one thing that used to catch me out at the beginning. I fear we may be such people! But i guess there is no shame in looking odd

I very rarely send my face pic to a guy and not cock pics neither but I think I'll send you 17 just for amusement purposes. I always have a face pic Friday rule insofar as I only send my face pic to the first 3 who ask. It's nail bitingly exciting!

No not generally as I try not to imagine them too much early on.

I was surprised the other day when a work colleague exchanged a pic.

Sometimes, yes, although men generally want to send pics early on, which reduces the chance to build a mental picture of them in advance.

Not so much their face but I'm usually more surprised at the length of their hair! I don't know why but I usually get it wrong 75% of the time if it's not something you am see in any of their public pictures.

I can't picture what they sound like either. How people can say 'your just as I imagined' is beyond me. I'm completely blown away sometimes when I finally see them. As it's never expected.
